Oh how I love Vince. They make really great essential pieces for any wardrobe. My best and favorite basics are from them and I found some great ones in their Fall lookbook. Peacoats? Love. Can't get enough. The perfect trousers? They have them, and they look very sleek. Military style Jacket? Masculine, yet paired correctly looks super edgy. And I can't forget my favorites, the oversized sweaters and leather leggings. Check and check. The styling for this shoot is simple but trés chic, love you Vince.

M.E.'s College Essentials.

Where has the time gone? It's already August and summer has flown by. Felt like just yesterday I was itching in the library to be done with finals and start my summer adventures. Now, I'm sitting here ordering my books online and making sure my schedule is perfect before I start on the 27th. I'm excited for this coming school year but sad that my lazy days of reading for hours outside with my puppy at my side will now be taken over by hours at the library and getting ready for graduation in the spring. 

For many of you, this is your first year of college and I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS! Cherish every moment of it because the next thing you know, you blink your eyes and it's senior year. Word of advice? Take your camera everywhere with you. The memories you make in college will last you your entire life time. For others, you are on the same boat as I am. Senior year (round 2 for moi) and somehow it doesn't seem to get much easier on the work load but you have learned to manage your time wisely so that you never miss an important assignment, a football game or happy hour with your friends. I have never been so organized in my life until college which will definitely work in my favor even when I'm done with school. 

So, I wanted to share with my little babies, my fellow seniors, and all you darlings in between my essentials for the College classroom.

A.L.C. Pre-Fall 2012.

Well I can't believe I'm already saying that I start school in five weeks! This has put me into a bit of a panic mode since I still have to make some changes to my schedule and what not but I'm also super excited to get back into it. (I really love school, weird right? hmm...) So, in the short time that I have left, I've been taking advantage of my free time these past couple of days and doing some wardrobe re-vamping. Anything that hasn't been worn in 2 years, donated. Anything that hasn't been worn many times or at all, for SALE. It feels good to get rid of things that I told myself I'd wear and then ended up at the bottom of my drawer, tags and all. 

It's my senior year of college and I'm continuing to build a good wardrobe. Essentials are key and that is what I love about A.L.C.'s pre-fall collection.Fitted trousers, incredibly good looking blazers and jackets that are, again, essentials but without being boring or predictable. I love the color palette as well. Being able to mix and match lots of your pieces is what I think investing in a good wardrobe is all about. I'm a strong believer in quality over quantity and buying a good pair of black trousers or leather jacket is smart ladies and gents. 

So, back to panicking organizing and preparing my wardrobe, school, and an upcoming trip I'll be taking!

Wardrobe Essential: The Linen Shirt.

THE LINEN SHIRT. A really great wardrobe essential for the summer time. Linen material is fantastic for hot weather because it's breathable and light weight. Perfect to wear with a pair of jean shorts or white skinny jeans. Formal enough to wear out and about or to use as a cover up top at the beach. I love the colorful choices from J•Crew but nothing can compete with a classic white long sleeve top with the sleeves rolled up. So perfect!

I have some really great linen pants that are my go to for a casual summer look but I'm definitely trying to invest in a white linen top. What do you think of the linen look?

Essentials: Beach Day.

 Whether you are headed to Saint Tropez or staying stateside in Cali, the beach is where we all want to be. I absolutely LOVE being on the beach and near the ocean. Unfortunately while everyone is currently on Spring Break and mostly at the beach right now, I got stuck here in Boulder doing mad amounts of studying for a midterm I have next week. (Thanks Professor Albert!) Regardless, the sun and sand are still on my mind so I wanted to share some great essentials for your next vaycay, beach side. 

First off, you can never have too many swimsuits. I love these two because they are super feminine and flirty. The one piece is Miu-Miu in a light pink and the two piece is Chloé. I love the scalloped edges on the Chloé swimsuit and it's a great size for tanning. 

Next, bring a pretty cover-up for when you want to head for a lunch somewhere in between coats of sunscreen. I'm a huge fan of prints when it comes to beachwear so of course I have to lean towards the queen of all prints, Diane Von Furstenburg. This blue print beach dress is great for just slipping on. I love the long-in-back, short-in-front design. It's also pretty versatile, you can dress it up if you add a nice leather belt around and tie it in a bow.
