Collection: J.Crew Ready-to-Wear Fall 2013.

I really have enjoyed the way J.Crew has evolved since the great Jenna Lyons took over on the creatives side. However, J.Crew has a following of not just young women and men. Since the company has been around for many many years, the older generation is well, not to pleased at the direction the clothing and styling has taken. Well, J.Crew listened to their customers (yes, they actually listened) and has gone a little bit back to their roots while still maintaining the modern and chic looks Lyons is known for. The Ready-to-Wear looks are brilliant. Sophisticated without the stuffiness, classic but with a modern edge. Here are some of my favorite looks from the lookbook as well as my favorite look from the catalog and, of course, my current JCREW LUSTINGS...

I was introduced to Wes Gordon just this season when one of my favorite blogger and fashion photographers photographed his collection this season. Modern yet feminine looks in a sophisticated color palette. The cuts of the tops, the draping, the silhouettes of the pants, absolutely stunning. I am in love with every single piece. Why did it take me so long to discover this brilliant man! Take a look but fair warning, you will fall head-over-heels.

A.L.C. Pre-Fall 2012.

Well I can't believe I'm already saying that I start school in five weeks! This has put me into a bit of a panic mode since I still have to make some changes to my schedule and what not but I'm also super excited to get back into it. (I really love school, weird right? hmm...) So, in the short time that I have left, I've been taking advantage of my free time these past couple of days and doing some wardrobe re-vamping. Anything that hasn't been worn in 2 years, donated. Anything that hasn't been worn many times or at all, for SALE. It feels good to get rid of things that I told myself I'd wear and then ended up at the bottom of my drawer, tags and all. 

It's my senior year of college and I'm continuing to build a good wardrobe. Essentials are key and that is what I love about A.L.C.'s pre-fall collection.Fitted trousers, incredibly good looking blazers and jackets that are, again, essentials but without being boring or predictable. I love the color palette as well. Being able to mix and match lots of your pieces is what I think investing in a good wardrobe is all about. I'm a strong believer in quality over quantity and buying a good pair of black trousers or leather jacket is smart ladies and gents. 

So, back to panicking organizing and preparing my wardrobe, school, and an upcoming trip I'll be taking!

3.1 Phillip Lim Resort.

Such fresh and clean looks by Phillip Lim for his 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2012 collection. I like the stark contrast between the bright whites and blacks with bursts of flowers and hot coloured accessories. And, hello? Leather overalls. Goodbyyyyyyee! So so cute.

Pearls and Men.

Designer Cheryl Manning of Manning Cartell has designed an incredible collection for her Spring and Summer 2012 collection titled 'Pearls and Men'. A combination of that which is feminine (soft pastels and short dresses) and with structured masculine suiting, mixed in with a bit of a fun sporty edge. I really love this collection! I could see myself owning every piece. It is the perfect juxtaposition of girly and boyish without trying hard. Show a lot of leg in one of her mini dresses or throw on a head to toe gold outfit that is both 'weekend night out' and can cross over to office wear with a simple change of trousers. 

Inspired by her muses Cara Delevingne and Melanie Laurent, Manning can't stay away from these cool girls style and attitude.
