Wes Gordon Spring 2013 Collection.

I was introduced to Wes Gordon just this season when one of my favorite blogger and fashion photographers photographed his collection this season. Modern yet feminine looks in a sophisticated color palette. The cuts of the tops, the draping, the silhouettes of the pants, absolutely stunning. I am in love with every single piece. Why did it take me so long to discover this brilliant man! Take a look but fair warning, you will fall head-over-heels. 

 

NYFW Street Style.

Plenty of magic happens inside the Lincoln Center but sometimes the more beautiful show is the one that happens on the sidewalks. Street style is one of my favorite aspects of Fashion Week. Off-duty models, fashion editors, and bloggers all strutting down the concrete catwalk while Tommy Ton snaps away. Check out these pretty birds. 

Alexander Wang Spring 2013 Collection.

I'm starting to get a little bit annoyed with viewing show after show in a sort of generic photo type. Face forward, model walking towards the camera. The garments tend to look so stiff and I don't think one can fully appreciate the pieces. So in my search for images from the runway shows, I have been drawn more towards those images that are leaning on the artistic side. I'm not sure if this is my photography background kicking in or what, but I'm really enjoying photographers who are taking a different approach to the runway shows than the norm.

So far, my favorite has been this series of the Alexander Wang show by photographer Balarama Heller. Beautiful images that compliment an incredible show by one of my favorites, Mr. Alexander Wang. Many thanks to Milk Made for Mr. Heller's portfolio. Baisers.

Christian Siriano Spring 2013 RTW Collection.

Christian Siriano is so dear to my heart. I have an unhealthy obsession with Project Runway and his season is still my favorite. Mr. Siriano is never one to disappoint with his collections. Stunning color palettes and silhouettes that would make any women look and feel like a princess. His Spring 2013 Ready-to-wear collection is no different. The pastel blues, pinks, and sea foam greens look beautiful set against off-whites and silvers. Fitted and styled to perfection on the models. I am head-over-heels for his final ball gown. I can just imagine how beautiful one would feel slipping that gown on.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013

Fashion Week has officially begun. While many lucky souls get to waltz around Lincoln Center in sky high heels and cameras in hand, I get to stay home reading up on the history of jazz, writing a couple essays, and studying for an exam on Tuesday. The glamorous life. Although I physically am not there (because CU doesn't give 3 weeks off for fashion unfortunately), I will try my best to keep up with every show and live stream the ones I can. *clears throat* Alexander Wang please. So for those who are able to attend...enjoy the shows, being photographed by Mr. Bill Cunningham, and the champagne. The rest of us will be sitting here on our laptops crying with our good friends Ben and Jerry. Jokes kiddies, we are ok with being jealous of you for a couple weeks as long as you post, tweet, and instagram anything you see or hear. @ManRepeller @bryanboy @womensweardaily
