I absolutely love making smoothies. They are so great for a quick breakfast as well as a midday snack. The heat hasn't really settled yet and the ninety degree days take a toll so I've been enjoying smoothies throughout the day to stay cool. This recipe is super yummy. It's not heavy but you can get decently full drinking it. It's healthy and gluten free which is also a bonus and who doesn't love chocolate favored anything?
makes 1 smoothie
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons Chocolate Almond Breeze Almondmilk
1/4 cup creamy almond butter
1 frozen banana
handful of ice (or freeze your chocolate milk and skip the ice)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
optional – espresso powder
optional:
coconut cream
(pop a can of full fat coconut milk in the freezer overnight,
coconut cream
(pop a can of full fat coconut milk in the freezer overnight,
spoon the thick part off the top & stir it until smooth).
cinnamon or cocoa powder for dusting
cinnamon or cocoa powder for dusting
Blend all ingredients together, taste and adjust to your liking
(more banana, more almond milk, more almond butter, etc).
You can make it as light or as rich and thick as you prefer.
Top with a scoop of coconut cream and a dusting of cinnamon or cocoa.
See how easy this is and it's super delicious. If I drink it in the morning, I add the espresso powder to give it a bit of a morning kick. Hope you guys try it and enjoy and don't forget to comment if you do and tell me what you think!
